Solid(s), man!

Well this week has assured us that we have no reason to be concerned that Clayton will be a picky eater.  The boy loves his food - every thing introduced so far.  The first spoonful elicits briefly pursed lips, but his mouth is wide open for the next spoonful.  So far he's had rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and green beans - yup, even green beans.  He ate almost a full container of beans in one sitting the fist time they were introduced yesterday!  Not that all of this food is reducing his nursing at all, but it is kind of fun to see him eat like a big boy!  We'll send some solids to daycare this week and see how he does there.

I didn't say he was a neat eater, but most of it does eventually stay in his mouth.

We started out just feeding him solids at dinner time, but this weekend also introduced it at lunch since that's when they'll do it at daycare.  He seemed to enjoy the two feedings, although he definitely eats more in the evening.

Clayton also loves to play and is able to entertain himself quite well.  His sitting is becoming quite stable and he is able to hold it for 20 to 30 minutes, twisting and reaching for toys as he likes.  He seems to be particularly interested in his laptop right now - it makes him giggle out loud as he randomly hits buttons.

Week 23 pics - can't believe this boy is ours and has been for 5 months and 1 week now.  Amazing.

He really is a Big Guy these days - can't wait to see how much he'll weigh at his 6 month checkup in 4 weeks.  It's gotta be close to 19 pounds!  He's now routinely wearing 9-12 month clothing and is in size 3 diapers.

This is a great face that he makes quite often now...can't quite figure out what it means, but it makes me giggle out loud so I wanted to share it with everyone.
